| Description: | At the same time as the Arts & Crafts Movement was active in Europe, the nomadic Cossack tribes in the Caucasus region between the Black and Caspian Seas were weaving their own distinctive and colourful rugs. The name "Cossack" derives from the Turkish word "kazak" which means "free man" or "adventurer". Morris and his comptempories were all heavily influenced by the styles of the East. Beth Russell has taken these influences and designed this delightfully simple rug. |
