| Description: | Hughenden was Disraeli's home from 1847 until his death in 1881. The primrose was his favourite flower. It was Queen Victoria's custom to send bunches of primroses from Windsor every spring. on his death she sent a wreath of primroses. Later the flower was used as a symbol of a nationwide organisation, known as the Primrose League, formed to perpetuate his principles. This is part of the National Trust Cross Stitch Collection |
