| Description: | Ickworth, with its central rotunda and curved wings, was created in 1795 by the 4th Earl of Bristol. The house is surrounded by an Italianate garden and set in a park designed by Capability Brown. At a later date, Geraldine, Marchioness of Bristol made famous collections of antique fans and silver scent bottles in the shape of fishes. These are incorporated into the design of the sampler, as is a representation of the snow leopard, part of the Bristol coat of arms. This is part of the National Trust Cross Stitch Collection |
