Description:Chartwell was the home of Sir Winston Churchill from 1924 until the end of his life. The golden roses o­n the sampler represent the rose gardens which Sir Winston and Lady Churchill were given as a golden wedding anniversary present by their children in 1958. The black swans which swim o­n the two lakes at Chartwell are descendants of gifts from the Australian government. This is part of the National Trust Cross Stitch Collection
