Description:This design is based o­n a sampler in Ickworth House which was sewn in 1834 by Sarah Stannard, aged nine, in the nearby village of Ixworth, UK. The design follows a traditional sampler format of alphabets, an "improving" verse, the tree of life, and flower and fruit motifs, enclosed in a decorative border. Unusually the letter Z in both alphabets is reversed. This is part of the National Trust Cross Stitch Collection
