Appleton Tapestry 4ply Wool - Hanks
Appleton wools has been made for over 150 years and were used by Wm Morris. It comes in tapestry (4ply) and crewel wool (2ply).. Each hank of tapestry wool is approximately 60 yards and weighs approximately 25 grams. There are 6 skeins to a hank. If you don't know the exact numbers you need, you can see the shades here.
If you are buying wool to do a Beth Russell rug on 7 or 8hpi, Beth has advised us that she now recommends doing the whole design in 4 strands of Crewel wool (NOT tapestry as stated in her book)
Enter the number of hanks you would like of each shade and then press add to basket at the bottom of the screen - this will add all the shades you have chosen to the basket.
